Sweden ensured a 100% win record in the group stage as they beat a lacklustre Argentina two goals to nil.
Rebecka Blomqvist scored the first goal of the game midway through the second half with a header before Rubensson scored a penalty just before injury time.
Wins against Italy and South Africa meant Sweden had already guaranteed their spot in the knockout stages.
It was Argentina who needed a win against all odds and hope for an Italy and South Arica draw.
Chances were few and far between in the opening stages of the game as Sweden were very laid back on the ball, knowing their fate was already decided.

The game was scrappy and had no flow to it which perhaps highlighted Argentina's nerves of knowing the implications of the result.
It took 66 minutes, but the opener was finally found, however, it was Sweden who scored it.

Not what Argentina were looking for but Sweden had taken control of affairs.
And the game was wrapped up in the 89th minute as Rubensson converted a penalty into the left corner. The spot kick was awarded after Blomqvist was wrestled to the ground.
The remaining embers of the game slowly burned as Argentina exited the World Cup without managing to make any real chances in the game.
Sweden were not at their best but they did enough to get the three points and can now look ahead to a round of 16 matchup against favourites USA.
