Hornchurch F.C. appointed Steve Morison as manager in June 2023. Morison made the decision to join Hornchurch in the Isthmian Premier Division after having a long break after being sacked by Cardiff City in September 2022.
Since the appointment, he has had a massive impact with the club sitting top of the table, unbeaten and nine points clear of second placed Billericay Town, who have a game in hand.
Firstly, Steve Morison has upped the fitness levels of the players in training with the club now filming the training sessions, making a video preview of the training ahead of the next game on YouTube to be transparent with the supporters.
Secondly, the club have improved their professionalism in training and on match-day, with injured players turning up to fixtures, showcasing the bond between the players and management. At the moment, the Urchins are heading in the right direction with a different style of play under Steve Morison providing positive results on the pitch.

This puts Hornchurch's name out there, increasing their exposure which results in people heading down to Bridge Avenue to watch them play.
Overall, Steve Morison has made a positive impact on the club, both on and off the pitch, as Hornchurch aim to finish top of the Isthmian Premier Division, gaining promotion to the National League North / South in the process. Hornchurch have come close to being there twice in two play-offs in back-to-back seasons with former manager Mark Stimson, but failed to achieve promotion. So, is Steve Morison the one to do the job and take the Urchins all the way?
