Southgate Slip-up once again!

Gareth Southgate has named England Men's Squad for the international break for games against Australia and Italy. This has caused some uproar amongst England and Premier League Fans.

England Squad

Defenders: Levi Colwill, Lewis Dunk, Marc Guehi, Harry Maguire, John Stones, Fikayo Tomori, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker.

Midfielders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jude Bellingham, Conor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice.

Forwards: Jarrod Bowen, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, James Maddison, Eddie Nketiah, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Ollie Watkins.

Above, is the England Squad that Gareth Southgate has announced. This has got much attention, with well-performing players missing out.

One huge highlight is James Ward-Prowse not being announced in the England Squad. Ward-Prowse has played 10 games for West Ham so far this season. He has scored 2 and got 7 assists. However, he has not been included in the England Squad. This is making fans question what he needs to do in Gareth Southgate's eyes to make the squad.

Fans are confused as to why Ward-Prowse didn't receive the England call but Conor Gallagher did. James Ward-Prowse has had a considerably more impressive start to the season than Conor Gallagher, with Gallagher starting 10, and only getting one goal and assist.

Levi Colwill is also another Blue to receive an England Squad call-up. This could be his chance to get his first professional England cap. Colwill has 26 England caps for the U16, U17, U19 and U21 however, still hasn't received his first senior cap. He has had an excellent start to Chelsea's season and has been one of the few gems in an underperforming Chelsea side.

Another England defender who has had an excellent start to the season is Lewis Dunk. The Brighton captain has played 810 minutes so far this season for the Seagulls, scoring a goal for his side as well. He has only got two England caps so far, but he is hoping this will increase in the near future. The likes of Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi will provide plenty of competition within the squad.

England will face Australia on Friday night in a friendly at Wembley Stadium, before welcoming Italy for a Euro qualifier four days later. We will have to wait and see whether Southgate's squad was the right one.
