Silkeborg vs West Ham - Hammers back in Denmark

West Ham have travelled to Denmark for the second time this season, as they prepare to face Silkeborg in the UECL group stages tonight.

The Hammers faced another Danish Side last month in the qualifying round, as they beat Viborg 6-1 over 2 legs.

David Moyes’ side will look to continue their winning start to the group stage so far, after their 3-1 win at home to Romanian side FCSB last week.

Silkeborg are hoping to pick up their first points in Group B this evening. The Danish side suffered a narrow 1-0 loss away to Anderlecht last week.

Aaron Cresswell and Tomas Soucek both look set to return to the side, as they have travelled with the squad for tonight’s match. Maxwel Cornet has also travelled, despite him being forced off with a head injury against FCSB.

Defenders Ben Johnson and Nayef Aguerd have not travelled with the squad, as both continue their spell on the side-lines due to injury.

When asked about Silkeborg in his press conference, David Moyes said, “They are a really good passing team”. “It will be interesting and Silkeborg being on their home pitch will be a test for us”.

In the build up to this game, there has been a lot of talk about Silkeborg’s home pitch, which is artificial grass, which is rare in top level football. When David Moyes was asked about this, he responded, “When you get to top level football, we are used to natural, and this will be different for us, and we have to take that into consideration”.
