Lucas Paqueta is back for the Hammers!

The Brazilian Superstar has been out for nearly 2 months with a calf injury missing over 10 matches and it has caused the Hammers to slip down the table whilst also being knocked out of the FA Cup by Bristol City.

Since he has been absent he has missed many big games including Manchester United away and Arsenal at home. David Moyes’ side lost both games with an added goal difference of -9. The Hammers have really struggled without the Brazilian and have not won any game in the 11 that he missed but have won 2 in 2 since his return, these have been against Brentford at home and Everton away and shows how big of a player he is for West Ham.

Since the start of the season, the midfielder has contributed 5 goals and 6 assists in all competitions. But it is not just his goals and assists that get the fans talking about him, it is his passion to win the ball back, his control when he is on the ball and his ability to pick out any pass.  Last season he also played a huge part in keeping the Hammers in the top division but also helped them to win the Europa Conference League by getting the crucial assist in the 90th minute to win them the game. They 26-year-old also scored 5 goals and registered 4 assists last year.

Paqueta has always been a target for Manchester City since he has been in the Premier League and it seems other top English teams would like the Brazilian in the summer such as Liverpool and Arsenal. If West Ham do not get into Europe next year it is looking very hard for them to keep him for the following season.

Do you think the Brazilian will move away from East London this summer?
