Rachel Daly scores 2 goals in a win over the Italians in the Arnold Clark Cup to show just how versatile she is.
Ever since Rachel Daly made the move back to England and played for her club Aston Villa she has just shown her versatility playing striker for club but she featured in England's Euro success at Left-Back. Even after Ellen White announced her retirement from professional football Sarina Weigmann still saw Alessia Russo as her starting striker/ Centre Forward.
Her Aston Villa record this season speaks for itself with over 16 goals for her club has shown Sarina why she should be given the chance whilst on England duty and this season she is one of 3 players that could or can play Striker/ Centre forward.
The 2 other players that will be pushing her for that spot in the team Alessia Russo who featured off the bench most of the Euro tournament and has seemingly been Weigmann first choice to start.
Also, Beth England has staked a claim to be in the mix as well after her move from Chelsea to Tottenham she has been able to play a lot more and has shown the quality in front of goal that we all know that she has.
These are the types of issues that we like going into the World Cup in July because we need to have players that are not only versatile but are quality and Rachel Daly for me is one of the first names on the list because of her ability to play in a number of positions.
The potential to be European and World champions is something that 2 or 3 years ago probably seemed a little unrealistic but now there is a probability that we could become World Champions and what that will do to the Women's Grassroots and academies would be insane.
