Fans are frustrsted with recent results of the Lilywhites as Spurs have lost back to back games to their two biggest rivals in Arsenal and Chelsea. However, this season feels like one that could be celebrated for Tottenham.
Last season, Spurs finshed with big turmoil and the only thing certain was uncertainty with the club. They finished 8th and missed out on all European football, which had not happened since Pochettino took over in the summer of 2014. On top of ths, they lost arguably their best player of the 21st century in talisman Harry Kane and no one knew what was next for the team.
However, the signing of manager Ange Postecoglou led to a more vibrant and positive way of playing football; one that had not been seen by a permanent manager since Pochettino's sacking in 2019. As a result, Spurs have gotten to a point where they are realistically challenging for a top 4 spot once again, which is exactly where the team want to be.
Yet, there are some feelings of disappointment from fans. These mostly stem from the incredible start to the season which the team had. Tottenham were undefeated in their first ten games of the season before the injuries truly hit the team bad with summer signings James Maddison and Mickey Van Der Ven, who had been crucial to this point, going down with injuries for extended periods of time. On top of this, the collapse that Tottenham had after this felt underwhelming consdering where the season looked like it may go.
As well as this, talisman Son also spent an extended amount of time away from Tottenham as a result of the Asia cup, representing South Korea. Tottenham's injuries and absences could be seen as a reason for ther inconsistent form this season. A reason why the pressure might be on however is due to ther North London counterparts Arsenal having a serous title challenge as we go into the final remaning games of the Premier League season.
Despite this, it can be said that this season showed some positives for Tottenham and there is a hope for Spurs fans that there could be long term success in the near future.
