FFP Strikes 2 Premier League clubs again.

Everton and Nottingham Forest have both been charged with FFP profit and sustainability violations.

Everton immediately responded to the charge. They said "We acknowledge the Premier League referral for a breach of sustainability rules"

Everton has only just had a 10 points deduction and they could face another points deduction but there is a massive discrepancy in the rules as they have been punished for breaches between the 2018-2022 season and now the new breach has stated that they have breached the rules between 2019-2023 meaning that Everton feel that they have a case of double jeopardy.

Everton have not released their accounts for last season and it is feared their will be a sizable loss and this primarily due to the loss of massive commercial contracts after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. This meant that Farhad Moshiri's business partner Alisher Usmanov had all of his contracts in Everton and that included a massive 200 million pound naming rights deal for the new Bramley Moore Dock stadium due to be completed before the start of the 2025-2026 season.

Nottingham Forest have also released a statement saying " We acknowledge the charges from the Premier League and we fully intend to fully cooperate with the Premier League and hope to come to a speedy resolution".

Nottingham Forest currently sit 15th in the Premier League and there is a significant chance of a points deduction and this could see them fall into the relegation zone. Forest supporters will be hoping that they don't get a points deduction as the team has worked so hard to get them to the Premier League and then stay there.
