The Blues travelled to the King Power stadium for Saturdays 3 o’clock kick off this weekend
and they returned to the top of the Women’s Super League table after beating Leicester City
WFC a whopping eight goals to nil.
Chelsea dominated possession throughout the match, having a total of 23 shots, 19 of those
being from within the box.
The Norwegian midfielder, Guro Reiten was given woman of the match, with a rating of 9.7, after scoring one goal and getting four assists.
Emma Hayes was delighted with the performance and stated that she was happy to see
what they had been practising in training converted onto the pitch. She then continued to
state that she was delighted with everyone’s performance, and that each women in the
squad got involved in today’s victory.
Hayes has again been nominated for manager of the month.
The win against Leicester makes it the 11th unbeaten game for the Blues in all competitions,
while Leicester still struggle to get a point this season.
Chelsea now look ahead to their Champions league away tie against Real Madrid Femenino,
next Thursday, where they look to extend their unbeaten run in the competition.
