After being 2-0 down, Barcelona are the UEFA Women’s Champions League Winners.

2 quick goals after Half Time from Patricia Guijarro and one from Rolfe clinched Barca the win.

Even with Barcelona’s injury doubts throughout the competition they were always a favourite to lift the trophy at the end.


Barca topped their group and surpassed Roma and Chelsea in the knockout rounds.


For Wolfsburg they came top also and beat Paris Saint-German and Arsenal to make the final.


After two dramatic games over the Gunners, with an aggregate score of 4-5, Wolfsburg reached the final in Eindhoven.


Wolfsburg had to go to a sell out Emirates and win to make it to the final, after dropping a 2-0 lead at home a few days before. They managed to secure the win in the 119 minute due to a Jule Brand goal.

The German side came into the final with the competition's top goalscorer, Ewa Pajor, who scored the opening goal after 3 minutes in the final. The striker finished her champions league campaign on 9 goals, which is her record in the competition.

This was the first European women’s final to sell out since the 2009-10 season. The capacity in the Phillips Stadium in Eindhoven is 35,119.

Ballon d,Or winner, Alexia Putellas, has had a season to forget injury wise since she tore her ACL before the 2022 Euros. The Barca midfielder never managed to start a game this season but did come on as captain in the closing stages of the final.

The 8 time champion and last years winner Lyon, got knocked out in the quarter finals to Chelsea after a dramatic penalty shootout at Stamford Bridge.
