Arsenal successfully starts off their Women’s Super League campaign, in a 4-0 victory over Brighton.
Skipper Kim Little led by example with the first of four goals for the Gunners, with Stina Blackstenius grabbing the second just after the break. The Euro 2022 top goal scorer soon became the leading goal scorer in this opening weekend, by striking twice in the latter half of the game, tallying the total to four goals.
Brighton were down to 10 players in the 7th minute, as referee Lisa Benn awarded a red to Emma Kullberg for catching Blackstenius’ heel during a promising red army attack.

Numerous chances came from Jonas Eidevall’s side throughout the full 90, however the Seagulls' substitute Kate Robinson showed great pace to get behind Arsenal’s defence, but Manuela Zinsberger was able to get down and clear it away.
This strong expected display of football by Arsenal earned them the three points, which places them top of the league, joint with Manchester United.
