Ahead of Tottenham's opening fixture in the Premier League on Sunday, against Brentford, fans will have a much clearer idea of what type of Spurs side to expect for the upcoming season.
With a very positive pre-season full of exciting, attacking and cohesive football, supporters will have a great belief that they will be able to enjoy watching their team again.
Amongst this positive rebuild under their new manager, Ange Postecoglou, a select few players have shone and either proven their worth or further demonstrated their incredible ability.
Let's have a look at five of those players, all of whom were previously at the club, and why they could make a real impact for Tottenham this season.
1: Giovanni Lo Celso
Despite being an outcast and one of the favourites to leave the club amid interest from Spain, Giovanni Lo Celso has turned his Spurs career around with an impressive array of performances in pre-season.
Rumours of a move away from North London were shut down by Ange Postecoglou after he made his admiration for the Argentinian known to the press.
Having never previously played in an attacking system at Tottenham, Postecoglou's style of play seemingly suits Lo Celso perfectly, providing him with more freedom to express himself.
With the club acquiring James Maddison in the transfer window, Lo Celso may find it difficult to break into the first team, but he is certainly in contention to play on the opening day alongside him in the midfield.
2: Yves Bissouma
Yves Bissouma may feel like a new signing after being given very little in the way of game time last season under Antonio Conte.
His technical ability has been on full display during pre-season matches, with intricate footwork making him a press-resistant midfielder, a key part of the way Tottenham intend on playing this season under Postecoglou.
Behind the scenes, the Mali international has become a leader of the group with many warming to his positive optimism for the season ahead.
The 2023/24 season could be the season in which Spurs fans get to see the real Yves Bissouma which many Premier League fans remember from his days at Brighton.
3: Davinson Sanchez
Along with Lo Celso, Davinson Sanchez was considered a favourite to leave the club this summer with many calling for new defenders to come in and reinforce the Spurs back line.
However, the Colombian centre-back has proven he can operate in this high line system effectively, using his physical attributes to his advantage.
Tottenham's final pre-season encounter against FC Barcelona was the best example of this, with a plethora of last ditch tackles and recoveries.
In that game he was ultimately let down by defensive errors from fellow defenders but he would certainly provide a good option for Postecoglou as a squad player in his system, if he remains at the club.
4: Oliver Skipp
There have been questions targeted at Oliver Skipp about whether he could adapt to an attacking style of play and his brace against Barcelona certainly answered those critics.
Oliver Skipp was running non-stop in Spurs' final pre-season match and was such an attacking threat that Barcelona's official social media used just his first name to make him appear like a young Brazilian wonderkid.
Skipp's eagerness to join the attack was a very rare sight under Antonio Conte but Ange Postecoglou has completely changed this, improving his all-round game.
The English midfielder may not be the first name on the team sheet, but he is certainly someone Tottenham will want to keep hold of for as long as possible.
5: Harry Kane
Despite an offer from Bayern Munich reportedly being accepted by Tottenham for the sale of Harry Kane, I think it is worth acknowledging one of the greatest strikers the Premier League has ever seen.
Having scored 4 goals against Shaktar Donetsk in what could be his last appearance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Kane has proven once again that he can play in any system, whether it be high pressing or counter attacking.
Some pundits and fans doubted whether Kane would fit into the system under Postecoglou and his recent performances have very much proven that he can score goals, like he always has done.
I personally feel there is no other fanbase in the world that will appreciate Harry Kane as much as Tottenham fans do. He has been the core of the team for 8 years and it goes without saying that the club's all-time leading goalscorer will be a huge loss if he does leave the club this summer.
